We aren't about to fill you with fancy words like "NZTA compliant equipment" or "Fully qualified STMS staff"... because it's all a standard that must be met to be in this game, and we exceed those standards in every aspect anyway.

 

Starting in the industry in 2005, our Managing Director was hired as a labourer for a local footpath construction company. Yes this sounds basic and boring, but of course with all good things, one must start at the bottom and work their way up the “professional ladder”. As you could imagine, there is only so much time that can be spent walking behind a plate compactor and operating a shovel before a lack of interest sets in and the search for a more exciting job begins. Don’t get me wrong here, starting at this point provides the most important element for taking the next step – Contacts. You know just as well as we do, “it’s not what you know, it's who you know”.

 

With a constant drive to innovate and work in an ever changing environment, the next logical step was Traffic Management, an industry that provided a bit more of a mental and social challenge while still being able to work outside in the sunshine. This led to using those all-important contacts to feel out a job with a reputable Traffic Management company in Christchurch, putting out signs and cones, and generally driving the public crazy. Along with the many challenges that life throws at people, opportunities arise, and over the next few years and several companies later, his reputation and skill has developed and grown, and is now well known throughout the industry. Moving from one company to the next, each step has been a move up that ladder, and each company has provided a new set of skills and knowledge, from learning to draw plans, to consulting for rival companies, managing a small company and learning how to train staff, eventually leading to developing one local company from an 8 person operation to becoming one of the largest privately owned Traffic Management outfits in the country.

 

It’s the growth and need for knowledge and experience and seeking a new way of doing things that made the next step so logical – Open a new, Full Service Traffic Management company, so of course now we have Total Traffic Management, bringing all the past experiences and integrating continuous improvement and new technologies to bring you the best service money can buy... Because let’s be realistic here, “you get what you pay for”, and you didn’t put in all that time to just let go of your hard-earned cash without expecting quality in return.
